The Academy Project

Marlborough Arts Center, 231 N Main Street, Marlborough

The original odd crew is back for an afternoon of music featuring solos, duos, and of course trios. Dylan Rosenthal, clarinet, Erin Vivero, flute, Sean McCormick, saxophone

This event will take place at the Marlborough Arts Center, 231 North Main Street in Marlborough, CT. Doors will open at 1:30PM with the concert beginning at 2:00PM. There is ample parking and the building is fully accessible. Cash donation ($10) at the door to benefit the Arts Center.

With Joe D'Eugenio, GMChorale, Alchemy, Elm City Girls Choir, Orchestra New England Mark Womack, Baritone Soloist and Sherezade Panthaki, Soprano Soloist. This sacred, non-liturgical piece turned the requiem on its head by deviating from traditional texts and shifting the focus from shepherding the deceased to comforting the living. Ein Deutsches Requiem will be presented with full symphony orchestra.

Who keeps sabotaging the rehearsal and why? Come hear some wonderful choral music and share a few laughs this Holiday Season with the Hartford Gay Men’s Chorus!

The Connecticut Flute Orchestra is a collective of Connecticut professional level flutists celebrating the rich culture of our state with the sounds, repertoire and diversity of a multi-flute orchestra. Piccolo, Eb flute, alto flute, bass flute, contrabass flute and subcontra bass flute comprise the orchestra.

Celebrate NFA's next 50 years with special premieres by Judy Nishimura and Ali Ryerson, performances by Göran Marcusson, Brice Smith, Adrienne Greenbaum, Jasmine Choi with the Professional Flute Choir, and a special send-off by the Past Presidents' Flute Choir. At the end of the closing ceremonies, the convention closes with the traditional participative performance of J S Bach's Air in D Major.

The International Low Flutes Festival

Colombia-based flutist, Carmen Marulanda, will present an interactive workshop exploring musically stimulating new resources for low flute players. Carmen will introduce her practice books, Traversuras for Flute and Piano + Play-Along Collection published by Liliflute Music; a book series that provides progressive work on sound, intonation, and phrasing. Featuring Eftihia Victoria Arkoudis on alto flute and Erin Vivero on bass flute.
